Bulldog Days 2015

April 20, 2015

For the second year in a row, the Directed Studies panel discussion was the top rated academic forum held during Bulldog Days, April 20–22, 2015. Senior David Molina (Humanities), junior Chanthia Ma (MCDB), sophomore Sophie Dillon and freshman Jed Finley discussed their experiences in DS and the ways in which DS  continues to play a role in their studies and life choices. Professor Jeff Brenzel (YC 19), one-time DS student and long-time DS instructor, former Dean of Admissions and out-going Master of Timothy Dwight, moderated the discussion before a packed audience in the Whitney Humanities Center auditorium.

Some comments compiled by the Admissions Office:

“The forum on Directed Studies was very exciting and informational and gave a clear sense of the program and its advantages.”

“The Directed Studies forum was informative and allayed misconceptions about the program. Having the student panel available for questions made the experience resonate with both parents and students.”

“I really enjoyed sitting in on classes, attending the academic and extracurricular fairs, and experiencing a taste of what my life at Yale next year will be like. It was especially useful to explore campus, try out various food options, and attend the Directed Studies forum.”
