Jeffrey Brown, Chief Arts Correspondent for the PBS NewsHour, visited The Humanities Program on February 5th and 6th. Mr. Brown teamed up with award-winning translator and poet Peter Cole for a lunchtime discussion of “The Poet in Society,” and led students from Directed Studies and the Humanities major in a discussion called “Appreciating Classic Texts and Finding New Voices.” He also met with student-fellows from the Citizens-Thinkers-Writers initiative and held office hours for undergraduates interested in journalism. Mr. Brown is a Poynter Fellow in Journalism for 2018-19 and his visit is sponsored by The Humanities Program. This was the second of three visits to The Humanities Program this academic year.
