On Monday October 12, DS students gathered virtually to hear Michael Sandel (Harvard Law School) talk about his new book “The Tyranny of Merit: What’s Become of the Common Good?” In a lively conversation with Professor Bryan Garsten and DS students, Professor Sandel discussed recent political upheavals in the United States and the United Kingdom and suggested they are a result of what he called a “divide between winners and losers has been deepening, poisoning our politics, driving us apart.”
