DS Screening: Thelma and Louise

Event time:
Tuesday, October 29, 2019 - 7:00pm
Location:
Silliman Theater See map
Event description:

Thelma and Louise (1991) explores many of the questions we have been examining in DS. How does social position influence one’s ability to live a happy life – and, more especially, what effects does patriarchy have on that ability? Where does anger leave us? Can it liberate? What is it to be a friend? What is it to have a home – what is it to lose one’s home? Beyond that, Thelma and Louise is one of the most fun and engaging films of the 90’s. Plus, there will be food. We encourage all who can to come!

(Warning: the film contains a brief attempted rape scene.)

Looking forward to seeing you there!
