Papyrus to Penguin! DS@theBeinecke

Fifty DS students visited the Beinecke Rare Books and Manuscript Library to enjoy a close encounter with ancient papyri fragments of the Iliad, Plato’s Republic, and other works from the first half of our fall syllabi. Also on display were early modern publications from the Beinecke’s collection. Beinecke research librarian Sara Powell, Classics Librarian Colin McCaffrey, and Manuscripts and Archives specialist, Alison Clemens were on hand to share their expertise and encourage students to make use of Yale’s extraordinary collections.
