Renaissance Art with Curator Larry Kanter

The YUAG’s Chief Curator Laurence Kanter will lead an exploration of Renaissance art on the second floor of the gallery. Students will have the opportunity to compare various depictions of the Virgin and to discuss how patronage enabled the intersection of the secular and sacred. Moreover, Kanter will address the process of conservation, pointing to the ways restoration may transform the original works.
